2009-2010 Season Update
Yellowman Produced by Nightwood Theatre in co-production with Obsidian Theatre November 2 -15, 2009 Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs Written by Dael Orlandersmith Directed by Weyni Mengesha Starring: Garnet Harding and Ordena Stephens-Thompson Design Team: Tamara Marie Kucheran A 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Drama Finalist and winner of the 2002-2003 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, this seminal play is an edgy and provocative examination of the complexities of inter-race prejudice. Yellowman tells the story of Eugene, a light-skinned black man and his relationship with Alma, a dark-skinned black woman. An intriguingly dramatic look at how we see those around us.
