Playwrights Unit Alumni

Obsidian Theatre has been developing new Black voices through our Playwrights Unit, our Development Series, and our Resident Playwrights for over 15 years.

The Playwrights Unit is an intensive process that runs annually from Fall into Spring of the new year. The program includes monthly group meetings and individual guidance and mentorship. Playwrights delve into the creation process in a supportive and nurturing environment that advances their work-in-development and supports the development of their writing process. The Playwrights Unit places emphasis on professional development and OTC provides opportunities for networking and professional growth.
